Early Education Entitlement is effectively free childcare for 3 and 4 year olds funded by the government. All children are entitled to this free early education entitlement starting from the term after their third birthday for up to 570 hours per year. You may have heard the entitlement referred to as ’15 hours per week’. This is because in school based nursery settings, the entitlement is given as 15 hours for the 38 school weeks each year. For more detailed information about what you may be entitled to, please contact Salford City Council to find out if your child is eligible for the free hours.
Parents whose children attend for one day or less will not be eligible to the maximum funding allowance of 570 hours per year as you cannot claim more than your attended hours. However, should you wish to take advantage of the extra hours, please email [email protected] for further information and our fees department will be able to assist.
