Kidzrus Nursery Group have had the most amazing week collecting not one but two very prestigious awards within the Early Years sector. Last week we were invited to join The NMT top 20 to receive a wonderful award for The Most Inspirational Leader. We joined other childcare professionals at the top of the Shard, London which was a wonderful opportunity to take in the fantastic sights of London. We chatted with other award winners and shared some lovely experiences before heading by boat across The Thames to Barclays HQ, Canary Wharf where ironically I started my career some 39 years ago. Before leaving Barclays my role was a training officer which is an area I’m so passionate about today hence the launch of Kidzrus Training & Development Academy. The evening commenced with an introduction by Richard Hawkins, Editor – In – Chief, Nursery Management Today and Vernon Baxter, Managing Director, Investor Publishing. The Judges commented:
“What Nicola has developed comes truly from humble beginnings; she has successfully connected her passion with purpose. A real leader who recognised the importance of wellbeing of her staff and children”.
On Friday evening we celebrated another award this time it was The NDNA where we very proudly received The Outstanding Contribution Award presented by Kate Thistleton, BBC radio presenter and Purnima Tanuku OBE founder NDNA. The event was held at The Chelmsford Grange Hotel and attended by so many professional and passionate people from the childcare sector. It was a lovely opportunity to share our many different practices and celebrate with one another whilst listening to the amazing stories from other like minded practitioners. We had the most wonderful time.

It was a pleasure to accept the awards on behalf of the whole team. There is not one person who is more important that the other, we all contribute to the high standard of care we provide at Kidzrus Nursery to every child and support parents as partners each day. We continuously strive to improve our practice in order to “make a difference”. Every day is quite different and it’s an honour to care for so many wonderful babies and children where we get to see them developing and learning in so many ways. The Early Years is such a special age and we are so fortunate to experience it on a daily basis. Our staff are so valuable and respected and we are continuously focused on theirs and the children’s well being. We are also striving to make a difference in SALFORD not only to the children but also in supporting families where possible.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the whole team without which we could not have achieved such accolades but a special thank you to Gemma, Nursery Manager Media City and Karly, Business & Finance Manager for their award submissions.
Since the awards, I have been asked to join the judging panel for the upcoming NMT annual awards in London. This is a wonderful opportunity and I’m truly honoured to be invited. I’m really looking forward to learning from many other professionals with a wealth of experience within the Early Years sector.
